Lousiville, Kentucky-based Neace Lukens has acquired the Plamp-Keen Agency Inc., an insurance agency also in Louisville that specializes in horse-related coverages.
The merger adds 10 employees from Plamp-Keen, including chief executive officer, Chris Keen, to Neace Lukens’ staff. The agency will serve Neace Lukens from its existing office space in Louisville.
Founded in 1927 by John Plamp Sr., the company had originally been named the Plamp Insurance Agency. In 1977, Chris Keen, who came directly from the horse industry as a trainer, joined the founder’s son, John Plamp, Jr., to form the Plamp-Keen Agency.
The agency’s offerings include equine mortality, liability coverage for riding clubs, farm owners’ policies, farm umbrella, general liability for trainers and instructors, care custody and control and pleasure and show horse owners’ liability.
