WELL AT LAST THERE IS SOME ATTENTION BEING PAID TO THE WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE ARENA. THIS IS A START, BUT MORE ATTENTION NEEDS TO BE GIVEN TO FRAUD COMMITTED BY REPETITIVE CLAIMS FROM SO-CALLED INJURED EMPLOYEES. WITH THE ECONOMY IN THE SHAPE IT IS IN, THE MORAL ISSUES EXISTS OF EMPLOYEES CLAIMING TO BE INJURED, WHEN IN FACT THEY ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR ANOTHER FREE RIDE. THEY CAN ACHIEVE THIS THROUGH WC ATTORNEYS WHO CONSTANTLY ADVERTISE TO HELP THEM, PHYSICIANS WHO KNOW HOW TO GET PAID LARGE SUMS OF MONEY FOR THEIR SURGERIES AND LONG TERM CARE INSTEAD OF FINDING OTHER MEANS OF TREATMENT, AND DATA THAT SHOWS A HISTORY OF REPEAT OFFENDERS.
EMPLOYERS TRULY WANT THEIR INJURED EMPLOYEES TO BE TREATED, HEALED, AND RETURNED BACK TO SOCIETY TO BE ABLE TO WORK. WHAT THEY HATE ABOUT THE SYSTEM IS WHAT THEY SO FREQUENTLY ARE EXPOSED TO IS FRAUD. WHO PAYS THE COST – THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE EMPLOYER THROUGH EXPERIENCE MODIFICATIONS AND INCREASED PREMIUMS.

Workers comp insurance companies commit more fraud against claimants than vice vera– denied claims, denied treatment, company doctors. Walk a mile in an injured worker’s shoes and then talk.

      Mark:

That is absolutely laughable. Over 50% of the claims filed in this country are fraudulent. Are there cases where insurance companies have messed up, of course. But the statistics point to overwhelming fraud on the part of claimants. Please make educated comments before firing off anti-corporate drivel. Walk a mile in a claims adjustor’s shoes and then talk.

It is amazing what the vote can do. Republican sponsored legislation like house bill 709. Will create more hardship for their undereducated inured out of work constituents an put them out of office all the sooner.

If a workers ability to work has been taken away by a work place accident, then his benefit should have the same duration as the length of the disability.
