Hope he doesn’t swallow a goldfish a home. And when he gets older don’t let him in your sushi restaurant!

I have been at an aquarium that has a similar tank to pet stingrays… it is the most fun we ever had there! HOWEVER, there is hand sanitizer at the exits, and parents are encouraged to clean and sanitize their childrens’ hands.

This sounds like a classic case of parents not doing their job. The child most likely never cleaned his hands, then had a snack and ingested the bacteria. Or he had an open cut or wound, which common sense (as well as the aquarium) tells you not to pet the stingrays if you have this condition.

This lawsuit seems frivolous… where are the parents at??????

The greedy parents and their greedy attorneys are standing with their hands out waiting for a huge pay-out. The aquarium tests all came back negative – and as noted in the article, this bacteria is also found in soil as well as other places a boy is know to play in… I hope that justice will prevail as I do not believe the aquarium is at fault either. A little hygiene or the lack there of, sounds like the culprit in this case.

Even if the case gets tossed, the aquarium most likely had to hire a lawyer and defend themselves. Almost makes me want to believe defense attorneys and plaintiff attorneys are in cahoots. File some frivilous lawsuit where an attorney is hired (ie, paid) to defend the innocent. Whole thing smells kinda fishy.

    Yes, bad pun intended.

ok, i am confused, because when i looked up the so-called bacteria… accordingly, it does not require surgery to be resolved just clean the cut or area and have antibiotics… sounds to me like someone went to far with whatever!! it’s going to take a lot to prove that the aquarium is at-fault… maybe they did not know he had a cut when he petted the skate… sounds a bit FISHY to me…
