Steven J. Hartman has been named president and chief executive officer of Stonewood Insurance Management Co. Inc. and its three affiliated property/casualty insurance companies.
Hartman’s appointment was announced by J. Adam Abram, president and CEO of James River Group Inc., Stonewood’s parent company.
Stonewood, which is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, provides management services to Stonewood National Insurance Co., Stonewood Insurance Co. and Stonewood General Insurance Co. Stonewood is a subsidiary of James River Group Inc., which in turn is owned by Franklin Holdings (Bermuda), Ltd.
Hartman has held executive positions in the insurance and reinsurance industry since 1992, including senior positions at Transatlantic Reinsurance Co., Constitution Reinsurance Co., Gerling Global Reinsurance Co., Arch Reinsurance Co. and IAT Insurance Group.
