The Florida Surplus Lines Association said it has named Larry Bodkin as its new executive director.
Bodkin currently is president and CEO of the Tallahassee-based Bodkin Management and Consulting LLC. He has 20 years of experience in managing, marketing and communications, having served as the CEO for several for-profit and non-profit organizations.
As a consultant, Bodkin specialized in strategic planning, member services and the creation of management systems designed to improve the performance of all types of organizations.
Most recently, he conducted an association audit for the American Subcontractors Association and a Grassroots Mobilization Program for the Florida Professional Firefighters.
Bodkin succeeds Roger Gobler, former FSLA executive director who is awaiting trial on charges he allegedly embezzled association funds. The association said it fired Gobler last February after it became aware of the alleged embezzlement.
FSLA represents excess and surplus lines agencies. Its members also include surplus lines insurance companies, reinsurers and Lloyd’s brokers.
