Thinking of suing in America? Think again.

Note the tortuous course of the suits: first, the judge prohibited taking any testimony while he muddled for three years in deciding on motions to dismiss. (In the interim, two witnesses died, and the rest were scattered around the country.)

Next, he supported No. Carolina case law, which says that federal rights laws (permitting suits for violations of civil rights), apply only to blacks (and not to whites, latinos, asians, or native americans).
(btw, that’s not what the laws say; but one assumes that’s “equal protection”, Carolina style.)

Ergo, the suits by the lacrosse players were first delayed, and then gutted. It has been seven years and the players, who started with a slam-dunk case, and represented by expensive legal talent, haven’t even been able to get their cases inside the courthouse door.

Ain’t the US court system wonderful…

Right on, Chavez: it’s a loaded system that favors the political influences first. And the judges, being lawyers themselves, work the system like the paid professional liars they all are.
