Two Florida independent insurance agencies — Acentria, Inc. and Gateway Insurance Agency, L.C. — announced they are merging.
Gateway, which has serving Dade, Broward and West Palm Beach communities since 1952, is merging with Acentria, which has 10 Florida locations and will be expanding into the southeast corridor of Florida with this merger.
Once the joint-venture is completed, the agencies will operate under the name Gateway-Acentria Insurance and have locations in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
David Stanton, managing director of Gateway will be president of the new Gateway-Acentria Insurance.
“We have been searching for more than a year for a strategic partner in the tri-county region with the right culture, footprint and professional team that would complement Acentria,” said Kendall McEachern, CEO of Acentria Insurance.
