What if the guy has no money? It is not as if his Homeowners would pay since it was an intentional act. The hotels will pick up the tab and this will be negotiated down to a couple of million.
Not that you care, because imagining a scenario is what passes for facts for you, but this has been covered extensively elsewhere. The guy is on the hook for about half, and the hotel for half. The hotel might be able to negotiate to a lower number, but a “couple of million” is just a terrible prediction. As for the guy it’s unlikely he will ever be able to pay, so there is no real reason to reduce his amount, instead he will probably pay monthly for the rest of his life.
Adverse female emotions are not anywhere near worth 55 million. Maybe 5 bucks as she was not physically harmed. Her notoriety has been enhanced so perhaps the photographer should be compensated for that.
It sounds like you could put this behind you pretty quickly and you’re fortunate that it wouldn’t bother you. God bless you! Her situation (job, future children, the fact that nothing is completely erased from the internet)could be very different than yours.
I agreed she deserves some compensation for the emotional damage, but $55 Million? Very few wrongful death suits get that much. I don’t understand how the jurors determined this amount. This must be knocked way down.
She is a looker, thats for sure. HUBBA HUBBA! I have not searched for that video even though I find her attractive. I do respect her privacy.
That being said, what kind of a moron at the front desk just hands that info over and put the nut job right next door to her? Not sure the chain as a whole deserves a judgment like this. But the clerk should be on the hook for something….

The guy doesn’t have any money. He already admitted to the fact. He was trying to sell the video to make money.

The jury was comprised of all middle-aged, male, mouth-watering sports enthusiasts.
The point is to punish the hotel, a small amount will do nothing to them.
