North Carolina officials are investigating after a sewage spill of about 250,000 gallons in Johnston County.
The county said in a news release that the spill occurred Sunday.
The Johnston County Public Utilities Department said a break in a pipeline led to the spill. The untreated wastewater ran into Swift Creek.
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources is investigating the leak.
