This is an ongoing issue. I have provided links below that give a little more detail. This article is actually misleading in that it does not give all of the information. I am an Alabamian and was shocked to hear the use of these funds to build a hotel. This is a great state to live in, but state government is corrupt and have been for years. Look up how many former governors have gone to jail and/or have been impeached. It is crazy. While I am disappointed in my state government, I love my state. Lots of beauty and fresh air where I live.
And who owns this hotel? I doubt it’s the city in which it’s being built.
