I keep hearing about laws being drawn up or passed that will ban texting while driving. While that is noble and a great idea – it will only be a minor step in reducing accidents due to distracted driving. Folks use whatever ‘device’ they have to do all sorts of things other than texting while driving. The only way to reduce distracted driving is by banning the use of any ‘handheld’ device or any device not original equipment to the vehicle while driving by the driver.

Also helps to have a vigilant Police Dept to pull these perps off, hand them a stiff fine and if they repeat, get the license lifted.
