Bravo to the author of this article, Amy O’Connor. Well researched, lots of authorities quoted, facts checked, timely and completely devoid of social justice and climate change nonsense. Well done Ms. O’Connor. Straight, direct and real insurance business reporting!

Florida’s property insurance is making Louisiana’s property insurance look good, thank them. As a Louisiana agent working in Louisiana after Katrina, I can feel for the Florida agents, insureds , and regulators. Our insurance commissioners before, during, and after Hurricane Katrina, Robert Wooley and later Jim Donleon, worked aggressively and tirelessly to bring about changes in our laws and attitudes of insurance companies doing business in Louisiana. Change is hard and best if not having to wait until it must be acted upon. I wish Florida the best but this problem has been one coming, do not let it become a political football.
