Too little…….Too late. The corruption ethos has taken hold and once corrupted, people are hard to redeem. You see, that’s the problem. They’ve allowed the formation of a corrupt coalition through years of implicit approval and that coalition ain’t going away. Florida corruption is on par with third world nations. That is why I moved to another state.

Vox, Sorry you felt inclined to move away but, never fear, 20 people from NYC have jumped in to take your place. As far as the corruption coalition, you are 100% correct. There is a very unholy alliance between attorneys, public adjusters, roofers and water damage restoration companies working in concert to suck as much $ out of FL HO carriers as possible. And the carriers let it happen, saying it was too costly to fight these phony claims. It is clear now that spending a few million $ 5 years ago to start winning some cases would have put the industry on a better footing. And you’re also right about the timing, it is far, far too late. I’m afraid we will lose many HO carriers in the next 12-18 months, they just cannot afford to stay in business, even with the reforms.
