I grew up in SC and now live in Seattle where I lead the Academy of Cannabis Science. Since 2015 we have been training people for careers in the cannabis industry as well as training physicians, nurses, patients and their caregivers about the medical benefits of cannabis. South Carolina needs to get over its fear and leave the reefer madness mindset behind. Cannabis offers an alternative to opioid medicine at a time when more people than ever are dying from opioid overdose.

The benefits are real. People have a human right to use cannabis. The laws against it were based on fearmongering and racism, led originally by Harry Anslinger, the country’s first drug czar. Even the American Medical Association spoke out originally against making it illegal since over 100 prescriptions contained cannabis extracts before 1937.

If you think medical cannabis patients are just in it to get high, you don’t know many medical cannabis patients. We have worked with thousands and the relief if real. I’m hoping South Carolina can get with the program and stop playing games while people are suffering and dying from pharmaceutical options.

Medical Marijuana provides relief to patients living with debilitating conditions. So, if you think it is for getting high only, you probably haven’t met the patients benefiting from it. My MMJ Doctors give complete information on this with all the realistic figures and statistical measures.
