Sssssshhhhh we need the Legislature to focus on the FL HO Market first. FL has the HIGHEST avg HO premiums in the nation. Let’s focus on the LOB that’s causing Floridians the most pain before convoluting any reform efforts with other efforts.
@FLAnalyst, it is not an either or. Florida’s litigation process and marketplace are the root cause of both LOB’s cost killing steps. PPA reform helps more people than HO reform would. 3rd Party BF and lack of truly reciprocal discovery hamper all carriers’ ability to properly investigate, adjust, and resolve claims in the market.
Is the FL PPA market at immediate risk of collapse similar to the FL HO Market? Normally, I’d agree, but given the risks facing the FL HO Market, it’s 100% warranted to tackle HO Reforms first.
Fully agree reforms for PPA market are necessary, but I will gladly make the case the FL HO market’s reforms are more desperately needed.
