Big thank you to FLOIR for putting this company in “confidential administrative supervision.” Makes it real hard for agents that are writing this business to know that a company is in trouble if the OIR is basically hiding this information from us and the consumer. Why was demotech still giving this company a rating if they where insolvent, isn’t that the point of the rating company?
I was one homeowner who did NOT see any notice from SFIC or my agent, I heard about it from my mortgage company that they placed “LENDER INSURANCE” (which Only covers the structure) on my account. Now I’m jumping through hoops to get wind mitigation & 4pt inspection to even be considered to get insurance. My agent admitted that She didn’t know why I wasn’t on the mailing list to be informed but they were also blind sided when SFIC only gave them a 2 weeks notice of policies being cancelled.
