Virginia-based Towne Insurance has continued its steady rate of expansion with the acquistion of Lee-Moore Insurance Agency in North Carolina.
The move is the ninth acquisition by Suffolk-headquartered Towne, company leadership said in a news release.
The family-owned Lee-Moore has specialized in insuring public and private golf courses in the Southeastern United States, but it also offers health, business, home and auto coverage. The agency will maintain its name and its three office locations in West End, Broadway and Carrboro, North Carolina.
Towne said in a news release that it is the nation’s fifth-largest bank-owned insurance agency. Its president and CEO is Douglas Russell.
