Hylant, one of the largest privately held insurance brokerages, announced it has acquired Aegis Insurance Services Inc. of Alpharetta, Georgia, a broker and agency specializing in the moving and storage industry.
Aegis, headed by CEO Barbara Stevens, will continue to operate under the Aegis name, but employees and leadership will be part of the Hylant team, the companies said in a statement. Aegis was founded in 1990 by moving and storage company owners.
Hylant has been around since 1935 and includes Hylant Global Captive Solutions. The company has continued to grow and in April announced it had expanded into Mexico.
