SageSure, a managing general underwriter for catastrophe-exposed markets, said it has joined with Auros Reciprocal Insurance Exchange to bring more homeowners coverage to Louisiana and Mississippi.
Auros is a property insurance company domiciled in Mississippi. It received its certificate of authority earlier this year and holds $25 million in policyholder surplus, the companies said in a news release. Ed Konar is president of Auros. He previously was president of SURE, or SureChoice Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange, which is managed by SageSure.
This is the third reciprocal sponsored by SageSure, the company said.
“We’re grateful to SageSure and the Mississippi Insurance Department for their partnership in bringing Auros to the market,” Konar said.
The financial rating firm Demotech has given Auros a financial stability Rating of “A, Exceptional.” Auros’ HO3 and HO5 policies in Mississippi and Louisiana are now available through SageSure.
SageSure now offers property coverage in 14 coastal states for its carrier partners, the company said. The firm said it uses online quoting and binding platform and a risk modeling and scoring technology.
