Insurance veteran G. Barry Klein joined Irvine, Calif.-based wholesaler Superior Access Insurance Services as vice-president of sales for its technology sister, Superior Access Internet Software.
Klein is best-known for his long-time industry public site, www.ultimateinsurancelinks.com. Originally an independent agent, he wrote the industry’s first national, commercial lines rating system, QuickRate. He has held senior positions at CAIR Systems, AMS’ Silver Plume, and Applied Systems.
Starting as a wholesaler in 1995, Superior Access wrote more than $55 million of premium over the web last year. It provides online, immediate and fully-underwritten quoting for 37 carriers through a network of 8,000 independent agencies in 47 states. Superior Access Internet Software provides the software for their use, as well as for carriers and MGAs.
