WCF Takes Industry Best of Show

August 8, 2002

The Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) received a Best of Show award at the Insurance Marketing Communications Association (IMCA) Showcase Awards, the largest competition of its kind in the property and casualty insurance industry.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized among the top national insurance carriers for the seventh consecutive year,” Tom Callanan, WCF senior vice president for underwriting and marketing, said. “A major key to our success depends on whether our customers and prospective customers understand WCF and the workers compensation system. This type of recognition make us confident that our efforts are effective.”

The IMCA Showcase Awards highlights the best advertising and design work in the property and casualty industry. The entry judged the best in each of the 26 categories is awarded the best of show for that category. Other outstanding entries in each category receive an award of excellence. The winning entry, Update newsletter, is produced to help WCF customers understand workers compensation issues and how to keep their premiums as low as possible.

WCF also received an award of excellence in radio advertising category for “We Made This Ad,” which featured company employees.

Established in 1917, WCF promotes safe workplaces to more than 30,000 Utah companies. A mutual insurance company owned by its policyholders and governed by a board of directors, WCF provides insurance products, claims administration, safety services, medical case management and special investigation services.
