CaliforniaSelect Insurance Agency, Inc., an affiliate of the Vesta Insurance Group (NYSE: VTA) announced the launch of a residential property program in California.
CaliforniaSelect, part of Vesta’s Select Group of Companies, which includes both FloridaSelect Insurance Company and TexasSelect Lloyds, is offering Homeowners, Dwelling Fire, and Stand-alone Earthquake products to premier Independent Agents throughout the state.
“The current restricted marketplace for personal lines property coverages is impacting both consumers and producers in our state,” said James Watje, president of CaliforniaSelect. “We are proud to provide quality residential property products to those consumers through the Independent Agency system.”
Citing the need to provide local service and California specific underwriting expertise, Watje also announced the opening of the California regional underwriting offices in Sacramento.
“Agents want to see experience and a local understanding of the unique and varied exposures that exist in our state. We are providing California underwriters for California Producers.”
CaliforniaSelect is introducing its Personal Lines property products with the primary emphasis on quality, efficiency and ‘ease of doing business’. A paperless policy processing system is the foundation of CaliforniaSelect’s offering, that includes: internet access to quotes, policy submission, changes and payment status, electronic delivery of agency mail, – including policy forms, and digital storage and delivery of inspection reports.
While underwritten and serviced by CaliforniaSelect, policies will be issued by Hawaiian Insurance & Guaranty Co., Ltd., a California admitted carrier, and a member of the Vesta Insurance Group.
All of Vesta’s current property agency relationships in California will be managed going forward by CaliforniaSelect, while the company is actively searching for, and evaluating new agents for appointment.
