Alliant Resources Group Acquires Calif.-based Strategic HR Services

March 11, 2004

Alliant Resources Group Inc. (Alliant), an insurance brokerage and financial services distribution company, announced the acquisition of Calif.-based Strategic HR Services.

Founded in 1995 by Lynda Lane, Strategic HR Services has provided over 2,500 companies with a broad range of human resources and safety services ranging from project work to retained consulting services. Headquartered in Newport Beach, Calif., Strategic HR Services works with companies of all sizes, in a variety of different industries, providing clients ongoing access to senior-level human resources and safety professionals. In addition, companies are able to outsource their entire human resources function to Strategic HR Services.

“The Strategic HR Services acquisition gives Alliant and its operating companies additional business solutions that go beyond the insurance services that Alliant Resources Group has traditionally provided, and helps our clients reduce or eliminate the risk and exposure associated with a company’s human resources and safety functions,” said Alliant’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, John Addeo. “The staff and management of Strategic HR Services are excited about joining Alliant and becoming part of a companywide, integrated marketing platform that offers insurance products, human resources and safety services to clients,” added Lynda Lane.

Strategic HR Services will be part of Driver Alliant, an Alliant Resources Group company, and will continue to be led by Lynda Lane, who will also serve as senior vice president and corporate director of strategic relations for Driver. Tim Chambers will assume the day-to-day operating responsibilities of Strategic HR Services as senior vice president.

“Strategic HR Services is one of the premier human resource outsourcing firms in the nation. Clearly, Strategic HR Services will provide Driver and our clients with an even broader depth of services,” said Tom Corbett, Chairman of Driver Alliant. “We clearly view this acquisition as strategic and in keeping with our vision of continually assessing and adding to the programs and services we provide our clients.”
