SAIF Corporation, Oregon’s non-profit workers’ compensation insurance company, announced its newest policyholder, Bear Creek Corporation, Southern Oregon’s largest employer.
SAIF will provide workers’ compensation insurance coverage for the Medford-based company’s more-than 2,200 Oregon employees, and up to 7,500 more seasonal workers.
“SAIF’s low workers’ comp insurance rates and reputation for service were important factors in Bear Creek’s decision for our 70-year-old Oregon business,” said Bill Williams, president and CEO, Bear Creek Corporation. “Our experience with the workers’ comp insurance markets in other states convinced us that SAIF was the right choice.”
In addition to its Medford headquarters, Bear Creek, best known for its product lines Harry and David and Jackson & Perkins, has operations in Hebron, Ohio; Wasco, Calif.; and Somis, Calif., as well as nearly 150 retail stores nationwide.
“Bear Creek’s selection of SAIF demonstrates that we continue to deliver on our promise of providing the most affordable and accessible workers’ compensation insurance in Oregon,” said Cecil Tibbitts, CEO, SAIF Corporation.
