The St. Paul Travlers Company (formerly St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company) formed its Ocean Marine claims unit for personal pleasurecraft and charter boats several years ago. I have been a member of the unit for 10 years now. It is true that handling pleasurecraft/yacht claims is totally different from handling other personal lines property claims, in language, theory, practice and law. It will be nice to know that there are other companies out there who believe this area of claims handling is importatnt enough to develop expertise in its personnel. Good luck!
