Santa Cruz, Calif.-based Battistini & Canfield Insurance Services is merging with Thoits Insurance of Mountain View, Calif.; one of the countries’ largest 100 percent employee-owned insurance firms. The combined organization will continue to operate from offices in both Santa Cruz and Mountain View and will be owned by employees of both organizations.
The combined firm will service clients ranging from individual households to major publicly traded corporations.
“There are very few opportunities left for such natural mergers of highly professional insurance agencies and brokerages in this era of publicly traded mega-brokerages buying up local and regional firms,” noted Thoits’ CEO, Don Way. “Clients of both firms will find increased depth and breadth of expertise while retaining the highly personal service they now enjoy,” he added.
