IINC Hosts Marketing Conference for Emerging Industries July 8

June 22, 2005

California’s cultural melting pot challenges professional marketers and communicators to tailor their efforts to communities that are constantly evolving. To address the many challenges of reaching these emerging markets, the Insurance Information Network of California will host a one-day business conference for the insurance industry.

On July 8th, experts in the fields of Latino, African-American, Asian, gay and lesbian, generational and gender-based marketing and communications will share their insights and experience at “Fusion: A New Recipe for Insurance Markets.”

“It’s not just about knowing that these markets exist, but understanding how hybrids and segmentation are further changing how these communities impact our business,” said IINC Executive Director Candysse Miller.

The conference, to be held at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in Los Angeles, will include presentations on strategies for reaching new and emerging markets, as well as examples of models of success.

Guest speakers include Ray Durazo, president & CEO, Durazo Communications, Inc. and Chairman of the Latin Business Association, an expert on Latino public relations and communications; Matt Tumminello, president, Target 10 Marketing, a leader in marketing to the gay/lesbian community; and Mimi Donaldson, co-author of Negotiating for Dummies, a Book-of-the-Month Club selection that has sold more than one million copies.

Speakers also include Nita Song, president of IW Group Inc., an expert in the Asian marketplace; Janet Curry, president of BaumanCurry & Co., which specializes in the African-American market; and Dr. Mara Marks, associate director of the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University.

The conference is sponsored by Allstate, State Farm and Farmers insurance companies.

Conference and registration information is available on the IINC Web site at www.iinc.org. The $125 registration fee includes all conference materials and the luncheon program.
