Alarcon is a moron!. The CAAA has their hands in his back and he is like a puppet for them. How idiotic must you be to realize that after carriers lower their rates 30% or more in a 12 month period, you call for rate regulation claiming companies are not reducing rates. Even a 5 year old can tell Alarcon is a joke.

The reduction has yet to reach the end market…..Look at the rate structure before we went to the “free (???) Market” model. Free market was the greatest profit boost to the insurance companies and has made doing business in California as a employer almost not worth the cost.

Now that the rates are going down (?) the carriers are starting to charge extra fees and audit fees….how does that translate to a “net” rate reduction?

If you do not have employers you can lower the rates as much as you want…..it won’t matter!

Hello Lyle, are you out there? What cave are in staying in? If you haven’t seen any rate reduction from your company, then I suggest you shop around. The majority of carriers are charging 25-30% less than they did last 7/1. I do not know of any extra charges for audits, this is the first I heard of that, but then, I only write about 10 million dollars worth of comp coverage, so I don’t know much about comp. And if you think rates were better under regulation, think back to 1992 when rates were about 20% less than they are now, but after open rating, rates dropped in half and companies went out of business because of that. Surely, you can’t suggest that the companies padded their bottom line all the way to bankruptcy?

AIA can pay the difference between the 30%
savings they say we got and the real numbers. Lies, lies, lies!
