Heffernan Insurance Brokers has announced it has appointed Ernest L. Kangas as trade credit and political risk specialist in its Portland, Ore., office.
Kangas has more than 30 years experience in trade credit and political risk insurance, and has developed and implemented programs for accounts with operations in North America, Central America, South America, Asia and Europe. Prior to joining Heffernan, Kangas worked at Aon Corp., serving in a variety of capacities including business development and regional management. Prior to Aon, Kangas worked for the Foreign Credit Insurance Association as credit manager, then regional manager for the west and southwest, and as the national sales director.
Kangas obtained his BA at the University of Oregon, and his Master of international management at the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Ariz.
