Hawaii Insurance Commissioner J.P. Schmidt has granted AAA Hawaii’s affiliated insurer a Certificate of Authority, to allow it to begin offering homeowner’s and auto insurance to AAA Hawaii members.
Auto and homeowners’ insurance products will be provided by the Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club, rated “A+” by A.M. Best, according to the company.
“The Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club has an outstanding reputation for customer service in California and in other states where they offer their members insurance,” said Commissioner Schmidt. “It’s good news when a company decides to do business in Hawaii, bringing competition and more choices for Hawaii’s citizens. We are particularly happy to welcome a company of the quality and character of the Exchange.”
The Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club was originally organized under the laws of California in 1912. They received their Certificate of Authority in Hawaii in June of 2005, and have been establishing their business infrastructure to begin offering insurance products to AAA Hawaii members.
