Matt Coleman, president-commercial lines of Denver’s Van Gilder Insurance Corp., has been elected treasurer of Assurex Global. Coleman has served as a director of Assurex Global since 2005 and was elected as an officer by the board at its meeting in Toronto in late October.
Assurex Global is a privately held risk management, commercial insurance and employee benefits brokerage group, comprised of 117 independent insurance agencies that manages premiums of more than $23 billion.
Coleman graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1979 with a B.S. in Marine Engineering. In 2000, he completed the Wharton School Executive Leadership Development program. In 1992, Coleman succeeded his father as president and majority stockholder of CBS Insurance, which was acquired by Van Gilder Insurance Corp.
