If it has been illegal to drive without insurance for 40 years, it appears our wonderful legislators have finally done something about it. They are on top of this just like they run everything else!

This will work great if all the uninsured drivers will just register their vehicles…

Don\’t slam them for doing the right thing, just because it is belated–well, way late, even. Not many other states have figured out UM enforcement yet. We estimate 20% uninsured up here and probably should follow CA.

I am not holding my breath. I can testify that there are already glitches in their system. I got two letters from the DMV stating that they were going to pull my registration without proof of insurance. Well, being an insurance agent, I have always had insurance. One of the notices was for a SUV I sold 2 years ago. The other was actually for a Truck I still own. I called my insurance company and they said they had transmitted the renewal info back in September, but would do it again. Now, the other car on the policy did not get a notice, so how do they get proof of one but not the other. Let\’s see how long before the ACLU comes in and tries to block this as discriminatory and unconstitutional. God, I hate the ACLU!!

Ah yes, the ACLU (American Criminal Lovers Union) is no doubt sharpening their knives, preparing to once again stab and twist the blade in the backs of the innocent and rightful.

Agents & brokers, meanwhile prepare for the wave of chronically uninsured calling your office to sign up for the CAARP Low Cost plan. I am sure the excellent compensation from CAARP will be so worth your time. Note my sarcasm.
