Burns & Wilcox, a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based national specialty insurance wholesaler, underwriter and managing general agent, is offering of a new commercial “all risks” property program that includes hard-to-find earthquake coverage in California. The Chubb Surplus Lines Property market, offered through all of Burns & Wilcox’s six offices throughout California, includes $2.5 million to $5 million in earthquake coverage for all zones in California, including the especially difficult-to-insure zones of A, B and E (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Riverside County). The policy is “A++” XV rated, non-admitted paper.
As part of an “all risks” monoline property policy, coverage includes quake, flood, coastal wind and builder & machinery coverage, with a minimum of $25 million in risk total insured value. Minimum premium is $25,000, and the minimum deductible is $5,000.
The program specifically targets California commercial property owners who have found difficulty in securing earthquake coverage in recent years. This includes owners of:
