This morning (1-18-2007) Bay Area radio reporting that the \”residential hotel\” occupant was burned by another source, (crackpipe maybe?) and cell telephone company technicians found the phone in working order even after being burned.

The burn victim has a heavyweight Hollywood lawyer and you can bet the ranch that Nokia will have a harder time convincing her.
Nokia may be off the hook with fire officials, but a heavyweight personal-injury lawyer has her hooks into them now and won\’t be so easily convinced that the phone wasn\’t at fault. Press conference today.

I agree, definitely a crack pipe in this case. Of coure it doesn\’t matter what started the fire nor does it matter what the result of the investigation will be, Nokia will have to pay out something because of the ambulance chaser that is \”assisting\” the poor \”victim\”. Civil suits are a total joke.

    Funny you should say that.

I remember, not so long ago, Nancy Pelosi coming to town stumping for Chris Carney. She said, the President needs to send more troops to Iraq becasue the current levels are not high enough to support the mission. Vote for Chris Carney.

Now, OH MY GOD, we don\’t need more troops over there… Nancy Pelosi\’s current position (I added the GOD part even though Liberals believe they are the only gods worth worshiping).

Hey Bull, just so you know, the argument wasn\’t to send additional troops now, it was to send additional troops at the beginning before there was a civil war.

Also, with your usual Democrat bashing, you missed that many in your own party have \”flip-flopped\” on the war issue. Peyton Manning, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Colts flag in the
window. \”This house is yours for eternity, Peyton,\” said God. \”This is very
special; not everyone gets a house up here.\”

Peyton felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3-story mansion with a black and gold sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flagpole with an enormous Saints logo flag, and in every window, a New Orleans
Saints banner. Peyton looked at God and said \”God, I\’m not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I hold many NFL records, and I even went to the Hall of Fame.\”

    God said \”So what\’s your point Peyton?\”

\”Well, why does Drew Brees get a better house than me?\” God chuckled, and said \”Peyton, that\’s not Drew\’s house, it\’s mine.\”

What are \”Quakers\”? Quakers are members of the Religious Society of Friends, a faith that emerged as a new Christian denomination in England during a period of religious turmoil in the mid-1600\’s, and is practiced today, in a variety of forms, around the world. To members of this religion, the words \”Quaker\” and \”Friend\” mean the same thing.

Quakers are: an active, involved faith-based community living in the modern world. We are a diverse people consisting of several distinct branches. We continue our traditional testimonies of pacifism, social equality, integrity, and simplicity, which we interpret and express in a variety of ways. Today, many Friends include stewardship of our planet as one of our testimonies.

Quakers are not: Amish, Pennsylvania Dutch, Anabaptists, Shakers or Puritans–we come from a separate tradition than these other groups. We don\’t dress like the man on the box of oats anymore, and today we hardly ever call people \”thee.\”

School prayer is unconstitutional. The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment provides that government shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion. Because public schools are government funded, prayer led by school officials or incorporated into the school routine amounts to government-established religion.

School prayer violates the “separation of church and state.” Although this phrase is not found in the U.S. Constitution, it is an accepted principle of American law providing that the government cannot interfere in the practices of the church nor advance or advocate religious observances in government settings.

Public schools are intended for education, not religious observance or proselytization.

Prayer is school is already legal. Students are already allowed to pray on a voluntary basis (in a non-disruptive way) so formal school prayer is unnecessary.

School prayer may lead to intolerance. Public prayer will highlight religious differences of which students may have been unaware. Those students who abstain from school prayer or protest against it may be ostracized.

School prayer is inherently coercive and cannot be implemented in a way that is truly voluntary. What young child could regard prayer as voluntary where it is lead by his teacher, incorporated into the school routine and engaged in by the majority of his peers?

The public school system is created for all students and supported by all taxpayers. It should therefore remain neutral on religious issues over which students and taxpayers will differ.

Since no formal school prayer could simultaneously honor and uphold the tenets of the many religions practiced in the U.S., as well as various denominational differences, prayer is better left in the home and religious institution of the individual student’s choice. A related argument is that school prayer usurps the role of parents and religious institutions who desire to provide religious instruction in keeping with their own beliefs.

I did extensive research for a forum I did at our Friends meeting, what did Jesus really say??

Comes down to a few ditty\’s, according to the biblical and historial scholars. Read the Jesus Seminar. They studied hard to come up with the following.

    Love thy enemies.

If someone asks for your coat, give them your coat and your cloak as well.

    Take care of the poor.

Looks like all religions have suffered much persecution, torture & death, but claiming a different name to call your religion, doesn\’t make one any better than another, & neither does the number of deaths or the degree of the torture. What\’s important is that you have a personal relationship with your God & His Son! ;) We all have enemies, but we should carefully choose our battles so as not to distance ourselves from those that could be friends!
