Actually, we have to train somehow and it becomes increasingly too expensive to stage realistic hands-on training. The military has been doing the same thing with platoon leaders for years (and then selling a version of it to the public). Quite frankly if it helps people think through situations and games it realistically enough I’m for it.

Happy Day, would you feel better if it were called simulation training? That’s really what it is. Simulation training has been used for many years.

And I agree that while hands on training is best somehow I don’t think I want a real chlorine spill done just to train people.

Actually it really doesn’t matter what you call it, because as long as folks like Nagin are in charge, I don’t think that playing a game is going to help him to understand how to & what to & why to & when to… He chose the blame game from day 1 instead of realizing the potential in advance (there was plenty of advanced warning) he sat back & watched as it unfolded & never made any decisions to help preserve life or property.

We need to have people that are willing to stand up & make decisions based on what is presented before them & do their best to work through any catastrophies as they come & if you think playing a game is going to help then by all means – play your games…

I think we need someone that is looking at the real world through opened eyes that has the knowledge to make decisions that will make a difference instead of wasting taxpayer dollars to try to train them on what to do, and someone that is willing to take action when the warnings are made, not react after the fact.

    Good luck with your game!
