Farmers Names Ingersoll VP of Marketing

Los Angeles-based Farmers Insurance Group Inc. named John Ingersoll vice president of marketing. In addition to having resposibility for marketing, advertising and brand awareness, he will work closely with Farmers’ e-Business and lines of business to develop Internet and direct mail marketing, accoridng to Senior Vice President of Sales Jim Westerman.

Ingersoll began his career as an attorney, specializing in corporate law. He later worked with Countrywide Financial Corp. in Simi Valley, Calif., as senior vice president of business development. In 1999, he joined the InsWeb Corp. in Westlake Village, Calif., where he was responsible for all aspects of its Southern California operation. In 2001, he was named vice president of marketing and sales for 21st Century Insurance Co.
