Manhattan Beach, Calif,-based Apollo Agencies Inc. has named John Ferrel president, overseeing all operations of Kinecta’s wholly owned property and casualty subsidiary. He joined the organization as vice president in April 2007.
Before joining Apollo Agencies, Ferrel served as president and assisted with the creation of World Savings Insurance Agency Inc., a subsidiary of Golden West Financial Corp., where he led operations to provide insurance services to more than 600,000 World Savings Bank mortgage loan customers. Before creating World Savings Insurance Agency, Ferrel worked for 20 years at Golden West Financial in various roles including senior vice president, vice president and director. He has held board seats with groups such as the California Association of Affiliated Agencies, the Western Association of Affiliated Agencies, and the American Bankers Insurance Association.
