Edgewood Adds Program Group to Staff

San Mateo, Calif.-based Edgewood Partners Insurance Center (EPIC) has launched a program group in its new San Ramon office at Bishop Ranch. Seth Madnick, senior vice president, Bonnie Tsutsumi, program director, and Charisse Bertrand, director of risk management services, lead the group. Other members include Lisa Elliott, executive underwriter, and Connie Rowe, client services manager. Prior to joining EPIC, this group was employed at UnionBanc Insurance Services.

“The underwriting and risk management strength of the Program Group will allow EPIC to expand its product base and develop additional niche markets,” said John Hahn, EPIC co-founder.

Madnick has successfully developed and managed alternative market risk sharing arrangements as well as insurance and reinsurance placement programs. He has practiced corporate, regulatory and reinsurance law as in-house counsel at various insurance companies, and as a partner at Musick, Peeler & Garrett in San Francisco. Prior to joining EPIC, Madnick transitioned to insurance operations and was chief operating officer of Hawaii Medical Assurance Association, a Hawaii domiciled health insurer, and president of the program division at UnionBanc Insurance Services.

Tsutsumi is program director in the San Ramon office and leads the underwriting, program development and program administration team. Prior to joining EPIC, Tsutsumi managed programs at UnionBanc Insurance Services. Her background includes managing programs, including alternative risk funding and captive plans. Tsutsumi has multiple years of underwriting and management experience with various insurance companies in casualty lines of business. Her expertise is with workers’ compensation.

Bertrand has more than 20 years of experience in loss control and risk management solutions, including workers’ compensation claims administration on both insured and self-insured programs. Prior to joining EPIC, Bertrand led the risk management team for programs at UnionBanc Insurance Services.

Elliott is an underwriter with more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She has worked for TIG, Fireman’s Fund and Hartford.

Rowe has 18 years of experience with workers’ compensation and disability risk management, claims and employer on-site safety programs. Prior to joining EPIC, Rowe worked in the insurance industry for UnionBanc Insurance Services, Wausau, Fremont, and Idaho State Fund, as well as in risk management for Sanmina.
