Calif. State Fund Promotes Two

Maria Rosario D. Martinez has been appointed claims manager of Los Angeles Claims Services in the California State Compensation Insurance Fund’s Glendale office.

Martinez began her State Fund career in 1987 servicing claims for the Woodland Hills District Office. By 1993, she earned two promotions from her first position as workers’ compensation insurance technician to reach the level of senior workers’ compensation claims adjuster. In addition, she assumed extra duties as fraud liaison, medical liaison, and trainer. By 2002, she was assistant claims manager in Glendale.

Additionally, SCIF has named Erin Chin named human resources management services manager.

For 20 years, Chin has served as an integral part of Human Resources. She began her personnel career in 1987, a few months after joining the organization. A transfer from the San Francisco District Office Auditing Department to a Staff Services Analyst position in the Personnel Management Unit matched her educational background. She holds bachelor of science and master of business administration degrees, with emphasis on personnel administration and industrial relations, from California State University, Hayward.
