Farmers Insurance Group, Inc., announced that Denise Ruggiero has joined the company as vice president, legislative and regulatory affairs.
“Denise will be a key player in the legislative and regulatory arenas in all of our key states,” said Ron Coble, senior vice president of Farmers’ legislative, regulatory, compliance, risk management and media relations areas. “Denise joins us after 20 years with State Farm Insurance Co., where she served in various claims and legal positions.”
Ruggiero served from 2003-2006 as managing attorney for State Farm in Sacramento, where she was responsible for legislative, regulatory and initiative activity in California and 10 western states. Prior to that she was State Farm counsel for Texas, and also served as divisional claims superintendent for litigation and auto claims.
Ruggiero received a law degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston. She is also a Certified Public Accountant and holds the designation of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter. She has served as a board member of the California Taxpayers Association and the California Civil Justice Association.
