WIAA Insurance Services Adds Access to Environmental Risk Program

Rancho Cordova, Calif.-based WIAA Insurance Services has expanded its strategic partnership with San Diego-based Barney & Barney LLC to include a specialty line insurance program with its environmental risk program. B&B, a member of Assurex Global, launched the environmental facility six months ago. The risks are submitted through B&B Programs, Barney & Barney’s program administrator, for underwriting and placement with American Safety, an “A”-rated carrier.

The environmental risk program will be made available to all WIAA members and WIAA Insurance Services subproducers. Members and subproducers will work directly through B&B’s ASAIB division to submit business. The ASAIB (Association Services and Insurance Brokers LLC) division was formed to develop, promote and administer trade association program business. The commission on this risk program is 10 percent.

The program is available to businesses involved in environmental prevention and reduction, including recycling, debris removal, and pollution clean-up or treatment services. Candidates for the coverage include: property managers, developers; material recycling facilities;
spill cleanup sites; landfills and construction debris facilities; waste incineration; wastewater treatment plants; and environment contractors and consultants.
