Thank you for this article. Am in same boat, have had massive problems with Work Comp and almost three years later still waiting on back surgery. Conflicts of interest need to be addressed: Work Comp pays the doctors and pays the attorneys, and what will the State do if faced with an appeal decision of: a) cost the State a bunch of money and legal liability; b) Not cost the State a bunch of money and legal liability?

My suggestion? At least half of the employer contribution to Work Comp needs to go to the worker whose productivity has earned it. That way, both the employer AND the employee can pay Work Comp.

Next, decisions need to have employee representation involved, at least at the appeal level.

What about paying the doctors and lawyers? That money needs to come from a party that is PURELY an advocate for the employees, not a stealth advocate for the corporations and State.

Get rid of the conflicts of interest and stop forcing people like me who were injured on the job, to suffer and suffer, and lose everything.
