$500 bucks per kid? C’mon Troy, spend some real money to make a difference, especially touting your good deed on a forum like this. Make it hurt a little. Do you have the cajones to donate $50K and make a real difference? Otherwise, I think you should stay out of the papers and amke the donation secret! You are cheap!

KK, how much did you contribute to scholarships this year?

$7500 and you are the first person I told.
It was for a high school for developmentally disabled children. Yes, insurance, I do have the right to complain about Troy being cheap. What about you? You probably work for this agency and was asked to give a little to help out…and chose not to.

To me – $5000 is not chump change. Yes, Troy can afford it, but he does more for the communities than just this too.

I was not able to find any high school solely devoted to developmentaly disabled children in California on the search engines. That is a unique high school, how many students attend and in what city?

Why not let your community & clients know how generous you are and how appreciative you are of these kids struggle to hopefully become self-sufficient adults. For good reasons too.

I would think by letting your community know about your contribution and challenge your community and clients to step-up-to-the-plate and do the same during this low donation time in our economic condition?

I am pleased that you would want to be of help to others. I was raised to believe that its not the gift but the thought that makes a difference. Thank you Troy!

It is all about marketing and self promotion. The gift is a very generous gesture, but the notion that this is not done with self promotion as the underlying motive is foolish. Hey, the local newspaper is one thing, but sending a PR to the national press is sheer professionalism in marketing oneself.
