AAU Comp, which launched in July this year, is introducing its first product, a workers compensation program for the auto repair and service industry that will be based out of its new location in El Segundo, Calif.
The targeted classes include, but are not limited to auto repair, oil and lube shops, auto body repair, gasoline stations/retail, stores/convenience, transmission repair, and auto repair/service.
This program will first be available in California with a minimum premium of $950. Requirements are a minimum of one full time employee, only one indemnity claim in the last three years, no more than two claims in any one year, no new ventures/lapse in coverage, and no towing or roadside service.
Accounts over $12,000 will be individually underwritten using different underwriting guidelines than listed above, according to AAU.
AAU is a subsidiary of USG Holdings, a national wholesaler of excess surplus insurance. The AAU branch is one of 14 USG offices nationwide.
