American Family Mutual Insurance Co. is lowering Arizona auto insurance rates by an average of 5.9 percent starting March 1, saving its Arizona auto insurance customers $13.7 million, the Madison, Wis.-based insurer announced.
American Family’s standard auto insurance subsidiary, American Standard Insurance Co., also is lowering rates an average of 7.3 percent, saving Arizona customers an additional $2.4 million, the company said.
American Family is the fifth-largest insurer of private passenger cars in Arizona.
Changes in auto insurance premium amounts will vary based upon geographic area, coverages purchased and the type of vehicle, among other factors. On average, costumers who purchase full coverage — including the comprehensive and collision coverages — will experience the greatest savings. Customers who purchase only the liability coverages may experience a premium increase, however.
