When you have people who lack the ability to think objectively you get juries who make stupid, emotional decisions and award big money not caring where it comes from. That’s the flaw in our legal system. Like Japan, we need professional, independent jurors who are well educated and well compensated. Their decision will be more equitable and consistent that the current lottery system of idiots who can’t avoid jury duty. The concept of a “jury of your peers” is a joke. Juries resemble the bar scene in Star Wars.
