The Buckner Company’s Seegrist Named Health Underwriter of the Year

Alan Seegrist of The Buckner Co. has been awarded Health Underwriter of the Year by the Utah Chapter of The National Association of Health Underwriters.

Seegrist was selected as the recipient of this award because of his efforts and success in the role of co-legislative chair with The National Association of Health Underwriters in Utah. His involvement with key health-related legislation has allowed The Buckner Co. to stay educated and informed on current healthcare topics. As a result, The Buckner Co. has held numerous seminars during the past few months to educate its clients and the general public about the healthcare reform bills that have passed this year. Seegrist and his employees have specifically targeted small business owners — educating them on changes related to employee benefits and the expectations of employers.

Seegrist joined The Buckner Company in 2009. His career in the insurance industry began in 1989, and he soon opened his own agency, Seegrist and Associates. He has also been actively involved in associations, commissions and committees surrounding a variety of insurance and health-related topics, including the Utah Association of Health Underwriters, the Salt Lake Valley Health Department, the Utah Health Policy Commissions, and the Utah Health Exchange Implementation Committee, of which he is currently a member.
