Washington’s Department of Labor and Industries has appointed Beth Dupre assistant director for insurance services. She will oversee approximately 1,000 employees involved with L&I’s State Fund workers’ compensation functions including claims administration, employer services (policy and account management), health services analysis (management of provider fee schedule and medical cost containment efforts), office of the medical director, actuarial services, the self-insurance organization, and Safety and Health Assessment and Research for Prevention (SHARP).
Most recently, Dupre has served as L&I’s chief risk officer. Previously, she held executive positions with the state Health Care Authority as deputy administrator of operations and assistant administrator overseeing the state’s Basic Health program. She also has more than 20 years of private sector experience in operations, marketing and client services.
Dupre replaces Bob Malooly, who has served in the position for nearly eight years. He is leaving L&I to pursue a startup business in software development.
