It doesn’t even look like America out there anymore – Government telling business how to spend their revenue, how to allocate salaries, etc. Very sad times we’re living in, and this is yet another example.

These people like this fellow once they get a little authority assume they have unlimited power. They do not think other people exist and really don’t care. It is about them. It’s what they want. Basically that is the mind of a rapist, except he is raping American business, so he can look good. What he is really doing is going to drive the insurers from CA, and cause chaos. When, that happens he will say, oh well my intentions were good. What he really means is that it makes him feel good. Typical Democrat.

    Dave,

Good point. At the same time, let us all remember what got us in this fiasco, where health coverage is tied to your employer. The reason health benefits became in integral part of the workplace can be directly tied to FDR’s and the leftists’ wage and price controls in the 30’s. Since companies could no longer compete with one another via wages, health coverage became a method by which competing companies could improve their offering, without having to break the leftists wage control laws.

So, the problems we are addressing today can be specifically traced back to FDR and the leftists reaction to the Great Recession, which the leftists then turned into the Great Depression.

Let us all keep in mind:
    – Social Security, which is now bakrupting our country, was started by leftists, as a cutting-edge social idea.
    – Medicare, which is a huge part of bankrupting our country, was also started by leftists as a cutting-edge social idea.
    – Employer provided health insurance was started due to leftists trying to control the relationship between employers and employees. These benefits are now bankrupting companies and families.

So, please always keep in mind these facts when the leftists are trying to ram yet another huge social experiement through, all to paid for by other people, and for which none of them are held to account.

Now these fools have saddled us all with that obamacare monstrosity. Are these people really that obtuse and short-sighted, or are they intentionally trying to ruin our country?

My brother recently had a car accident and his premiums sky rocketed, and he heard about “Clearance Auto Insurance” and now his premium is lower with same coverage. If anyone is interested search online and find them.

Why is anyone surprised at this power grabbing decree? Wake up and smell the coffee. It is the Dem Party’s implicit design to drive private sector sources of insurance from the market to pave the way for their end-game: Single Payor Universal Insurance.

    That is not an overstatement.

In their condescending and dangerous eyes, California’s ruling party is a class of intellect above the rest of us standing on the other side of the ideological divide. The Dems hold themselves as the only ones capable of making our decisions for us. This power play by Jones is a stunning blow against the liberties of free commerce and choice.

Why do you want insurers to be able to spend more of your health insurance premium on things other than healthcare? That’s what this is about.

How about they spend less money on lobbying government, CEO salaries and advertising and, in turn, lower the price of costly healthcare insurance? That’s what MLR is about.

The merging of business and government interests meets the textbook definition of fascism. Why has no one called Obama Hitler yet? That name was certainly thrown around “liberally” when Bush was President.

To quote a well known radio talk show host, it’s to “further the cause”. That’s why these morons don’t care to read the bills they try to jam down our throats. It doesn’t matter, as long as it “furthers the cause.” 2012 can’t get here soon enough.

Am I the only one that looks at this and realizes that there’s no way to win? Our country is too far gone. On one hand, you have the “rightists” whose free enterprise system is great in theory, but impossible in real life. Greedy executives, corrupt politicians (of EITHER party), and a general human instinct to look out for oneself first make that idea all but impossible.

Enter the “leftists” who are at the other extreme. A top-heavy government with a committee and a subcommittee for everything under the sun promises to regulate everything to the best interest of the consumer. These plans are almost always plagued by corruption, budget overruns, misappropriated spending, etc.

If we could drop the fight between the donkey and the elephant for just long enough to realize that our country has evolved to the point where these political parties are obsolete, we would have a moment of clarity.

This would be almost as beneficial as realizing that our entire government model is defunct. We are arguably the most diverse country in the world, yet we use a one-size-fits-all government.

A number of our states are as large as countries, in population and in geographic area. I see no reason why we cannot dissolve a large portion of the American government and give more power to the states. This would solve arguments like this, because if you wanted to live where the government controlled everything you did, you could live somewhere liberal. If you prefer a rightist rule, choose a conservative state. Moreover, this would leave plenty of room for those who don’t feel that they fall under either wing to build their own [more] ideal government.
