Hopefully this is a misprint. Bend OR elevation is above 3600 Ft and is securely situated east of the Cascade Mountains. It would take a very special Tsunami to inundate Bend.

To insinuate states are looking for a handout when major damage was done is absolutely silly.

Both coastlines were hit severely due to the tsunami. Evidently R U Forreal is an absolute idiot.

By the way it was Brookings, OR not Bend, OR.

The article says a Bend man — I think meaning that he was from Bend, OR — not that he died in Bend.

Tsunami Damage- I understand the cost associated with the damage. I don’t understand why we, who chose to live in states that don’t sustain this type of damage are expected to pay for it. The key word is expected. With all of the population of CA and the taxes that residents of CA pay to the state, the state should be able to shoulder a few million in damages. I’m not an idiot. I’m just sick of people who expect others (Federal Gov.) to pay for everything. It’s not a secret that both CA and OR happen to be very liberal states. Good day Sir, or Madam.

      R. U. Forreal, when damage has been sustained in any other state (e.g. Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, New Orleans, the list goes on and on) would you have made the same comment?

The damage was sustained by “An Act of God” and the only areas in California, Oregon, and Hawaii are asking for assistance to the areas damaged.

It sounds like you are bitter person, and you really should consider going back to listening to your Oxycotin induced Rush Limbaugh.

The damage from Tsunami is NOTHING comparing to damages intentionally caused to the injured people caused by fraud related to intentional and wrongful workers compensation claims denial by the Insurance Industry savages orchestrating fraud!

The industry fraudulently denies real life occupational injuries specially those invisible like chemical injuries using a bunch of corrupt crooks called IME who are in a business of fabricating and selling fraudulent medical reports for fees!

A scam is a scam and those crooks do know how to defraud people!
